‘Pac-12 after dark’ and other late games to watch

  • Baylor at BYU (10:15 p.m. on ESPN)

The best game during the Pac-12 after dark slate is not even a Pac-12 game at all.

Baylor looks to defend a top 10 ranking on the road against BYU in Provo. This BYU team didn’t lose a lot from a year ago, so they’ll be more than capable of dealing out some revenge; the Cougars lost to Baylor 38-24 a season ago.

  • Oregon State at Fresno State (10:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network)

Oregon State smoked Boise State 34-17 last week, and the game wasn’t even that close; OSU had a 24-0 lead at half. The Beavers are led by Chance Nolan, who tossed for 251 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Broncos.

Meanwhile, Fresno State was able to down Cal Poly 35-7 and put up 549 yards of offense while doing it. They’ve got some of the most talented skill position guys in the entire country, and are led by the admirable Jake Haener at quarterback

Oregon State is currently a one-point favorite in this contest, so it should come down to the wire.

  • Mississippi State at Arizona (11 p.m. on FS1)

Arizona…didn’t look so bad? More precisely, they crushed a San Diego State team that they were not supposed to beat. At least, that’s what the experts thought.

The duo of quarterback Jayden De Laura and receiver Jacob Cowing have lit a fire under Arizona’s behind. They’ll get a chance to prove their mettle against an SEC foe in Mississippi State.

Mississippi State comes in feeling good. They blew out Memphis 49-23, and looked the part of a Mike Leach team, as quarterback Will Rogers threw for a whole bunch of yards in the victory.

This game could have some fireworks. Night owls, be aware.
