Nebraska football: 3 realistic candidates to replace Scott Frost
I wrote about potential Scott Frost replacements at Nebraska football two weeks ago, but here are some realistic options after another loss.
Two weeks ago, I watched Nebraska football implode against an average Northwestern team in Ireland, dropping to 0-1 on the season before it really even got started.
I immediately decided to write about some candidates that could replace Scott Frost because it just felt like time. I provided a list of best-case options but they may not be the most realistic.
It was what Nebraska fans needed to read after a heartbreaking loss to Northwestern thousands of miles away from home.
The loss dropped Scott Frost’s record at Nebraska to 15-30 overall and his Big Ten record was even more unspeakable. He just didn’t look like the right man for the job and he hasn’t in years. There was always that hope that he was going to be the savior of the program he grew up rooting for and eventually winning a national title for as a player, but it just hasn’t happened.
Now, after a loss at home to Georgia Southern, it’s time for a change in Lincoln.
Frost was worth a shot after he dominated at UCF and the fit just made sense for both sides. But after a handful of underwhelming seasons, no bowl berths, and a 1-2 start to the 2022 season, the Cornhuskers need to be looking at more realistic options.
Here’s who I think the Cornhuskers could probably land to replace Frost.
