6. Syracuse: (2-0)

No matter how many more games the Orange win this season, they will be fun to watch. Rober Anae and his offense have translated well to Syracuse. Unlike his time at Virginia, he has one of the best running backs in the country to make that zone read devastating.

Syracuse’s defense has been equally impressive as well. The Orange bottled Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham in week one and overwhelmed an overmatched UConn team this week. If styles make fights, their game against Purdue should be fun.

5. #23 Wake Forest: (2-0)

Anytime you talk about quarterbacks with mastery of their offenses, Sam Hartman’s name has to come up. Hartman stepped in after missing significant time with blood clots and did not miss a step against Vanderbilt. Hartman threw for 300 yards and four touchdowns as the Deacons improved to 2-0.

The Deacons get the Liberty Flames next week before hosting the Clemson Tigers on September 24 to open ACC conference play.

4. Florida State: (2-0)

The Seminoles are off to their best start in some time. Florida State was off this week after its one-point win against the LSU Tigers in New Orleans. There is a lot to love about FSU’s small sample size. Jordan Travis looks improved as a passer, and Oregon transfers Johnny Wilson and Micah Pittman have helped tremendously.

The defense looks legit as well. After hitting the jackpot with Georgia transfer Jermaine Johnson last year,  it seems like the ‘Noles have cashed in again with Albany transfer Jared Verse. The defense will be tested this Friday, trying to contain Louisville quarterback Malik Willis as FSU begins conference play.
