Big Ten East remains undefeated in non-conference play

Now let’s take a look at the Big Ten West games as only three teams in the division won their non-conference game in week two play.
Biggest takeaway from the game: The Illinois defense did not allow a touchdown in this game.
Offensive Player of the game: Running back Chase Brown rushed for 146 yards.
Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Matthew Bailey had two fumble recoveries and an interception.

Biggest takeaway from the game: Iowa had only 150 yards of total offense and 11 first downs.
Offensive Player of the game: Tight End Sam Laporta had eight catches for 55 yards.
Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Cooper Dejean had 11 tackles two pass deflections, and one interception.

Biggest takeaway from the game: The Northwestern offense committed three turnovers.
Offensive Player of the game: Running back Evan Hull caught 14 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 65 yards a touchdown.
Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Garnett Hollis Jr. had five tackles and an interception.
This Week: Hosts Southern Illinois at 12 pm on the Big Ten Network.
Biggest takeaway from the game: The Badgers offense committed three turnovers in the game.
Offensive Player of the game: Tight end Clay Cundiff caught four passes for 59 yards and had two touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the game: Safety John Torchio had eight tackles and one pass deflection.
This Week: Hosts New Mexico State for a 3:30 pm game on the Big Ten Network.
Biggest takeaway from the game: The Cornhuskers gave up 642 yards on defense against Georgia Southern.
Offensive Player of the game: Quarterback Casey Thompson threw for 318 yards and a touchdown and also ran the ball ten times for three rushing touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Marques Buford Jr. who had two interceptions and had five tackles.
This Week: Hosts Oklahoma for a game at 12 pm on Fox
Purdue defeated Indiana State 56-0
Biggest takeaway from the game: The Boilermakers defense held Indiana State’s offense to under 100 yards passing and under 60 yards rushing.
Offensive Player of the game: Quarterback Aidan O’Connell who threw for over 200 yards, completed all but two of his 19 pass attempts and passed for four touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the game: Safety Cam Allen had two fumble recoveries, two tackles, and an interception that he returned 65 yards for a touchdown.
This Week: At Syracuse for a 12 pm game on ESPN 2.
Minnesota defeated Western Illinois 62-10
Biggest takeaway from the game: The Gophers rushing attack combined for over 300 rushing yards.
Offensive Player of the game: Running back Mohamed Ibrahim rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensive Player of the game: Defensive back Jordan Howden had an interception and had four solo tackles as well.
