Bryan Harsin: vs (22) Penn State

The good news: Harsin’s Auburn Tigers have started 2-0 and looked pretty good in doing so. The bad news: a 2-0 does nothing to cool the seat when the wins are Murray State and San Jose State. But a win against Penn State would do wonders.

Last year, Penn State hosted number 22 Auburn and won. Now the roles are completely reversed: Auburn is the host and Penn State is ranked 22. Can Auburn return the win from last year?

One thing Auburn must do this year is slow down Sean Clifford. Clifford threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The Tigers cannot allow that to happen again. That’s going to be a tough task for an Auburn defense that ranks 11th in the SEC in passing yards allowed per game.

This is 100% a must win game. Auburn has had enough hardships off the field under Harsin and needs to start seeing results on the field. You know what they say: winning cures all. This game might be the difference between a bowl appearance and sitting at home in December. A loss here and Harsin might be sitting at home in October or November.
