1. BYU football QB Jaren Hall is playing great ball

Junior starting quarterback Jaren Hall is a name many college football experts are keeping an eye on this season to see if he has what it takes to compete at the NFL level.

Before the season started, one ESPN analyst had pegged him as a potential first-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

So far, Hall is living up to the hype. He’s thrown for 522 yards and notched three touchdown passes through the first two weeks of the college football season.

Hall’s hot start to 2022, coupled with the fact that the Spanish Fork, Utah native is 7-1 against Power Five teams since he’s been the starting quarterback for the Cougars. Perhaps more importantly, he’s 3-0 against ranked teams, according to BYU’s game notes.

The 6-foot-1 quarterback looks to add to that win total when he faces an Oregon defense that’s still trying to get into a rhythm after two drastically different ball games to start the 2022 season.

Hall is a good decision-maker and makes plays, especially on the road. Last season, Hall threw seven touchdowns and just two interceptions in away games, according to ESPN.

When you combine the great game planning of Head Coach Kalani Sitake and the solid play from Hall, you have all the ingredients to create some magic. These two men have outstanding records in big games.

BYU will get the tough road win and continue to make its case to be in the mix for this season’s College Football Playoff.
