14. Georgia Tech (1-2, 0-1)

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets looked as bad as it ever has since Geoff Collins took over on Saturday when it lost 42-0 against the Mississippi Rebels. The offense was anemic, with just 214 yards and 3.3 yards per play. The Yellow Jackets could not run the football or stop the run on defense.

The ‘Jackets had just 53 rushing yards and allowed 316 rushing yards. There were moments when Georgia Tech looked like it did not want to be out there. That is not a good sign for Collins and his staff.

13. Boston College (1-2, 0-1)

The Eagles notched their first win of the season against FCS-opponent Maine 38-17. Quarterback Phil Jurkovec looked good, throwing for 320 yards and two touchdowns. That said, the Bears are a mid-level FCS team, and Boston College should have won going away. The bad news for the Eagles is the next four games.

Boston College travels to Tallahassee next weekend to play the Seminoles before hosting Louisville and Clemson. BC travels to Winston-Salem after a bye week to play Wake Forest.

12. Louisville (1-2, 0-2)

The close-game monster jumped up and bit the Cardinals on Friday in a 35-31 loss to the Florida State Seminoles. Louisville had a late three-point lead and could not hold it against the Seminoles. Losing close games was an issue last season, and it seems they will have the same problems this season.

If the Cardinals can’t pull out close wins or win comfortably, head coach Scott Satterfield might be on the hot seat sooner rather than later.
