Unbeaten Basketball Blue Bloods

One of the biggest surprises so far in the 2022 college football season has been the performance of traditional college basketball blue bloods Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, and Kentucky.

For the first time ever, all of those teams are 3-0 in college football. Kentucky is actually ranked in the top 10 and Mark Stoops bristled not long ago when John Calipari suggested that Kentucky was a basketball school only. The win over Florida this fall showed why.

Imagine if the Wildcats beat Georgia?

Kansas might be the biggest surprise of any of the teams that are undefeated in part because of the schedule and also how bad the Jayhawks were just a couple of years ago.

Under Lance Leipold, who is getting talked about as a candidate for the Nebraska job, and QB Jadon Daniels, the Jayhawks beat West Virginia in overtime and followed it up with a win over Houston. Both of those were on the road.

Duke knocked off Northwestern and North Carolina avoided a loss at App State. The Tar Heels will face Notre Dame this weekend but if anyone had these three teams sitting at 3-0 after three games, you were one of the few.
