Houston football team is in freefall after blowout loss to Kansas

15. player. 2410. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. LW: 7. C-USA. UTSA Roadrunners

UTSA lost to No. 21 Texas 41-20

The Roadrunners, sliding down to No. 15, had an extremely difficult and top-heavy schedule this season. They nearly upset Houston, falling to the No. 24 Cougars in triple overtime, defeated a tough Army team, and were competitive vs No. 21 Texas. UTSA just couldn’t find a way to slow Longhorns star running back Bijan Robinson, who collected 183 rushing yards and 3 TD on 20 carries. They’ll get some relief once their conference schedule begins, believe it or not.

LW: 4. 14. 881. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. American. Houston Cougars

Houston lost to Kansas 48-30

What a whirlwind season it’s been for Houston, falling all the way to No. 14 this week. They are crumbling under the weight of expectations that many had for them at the beginning of the college football season. Losses are mounting, we’re seeing infighting on the sidelines between players, and the defense is horrible.

The Cougars allowed just 20.4 ppg last season. In 2022, through the first three games, Houston is giving up 38.7 ppg.

Air Force lost to Wyoming 17-14

Down to No. 13, Air Force took a tumble after their offense couldn’t get anything going against Wyoming. They accumulated just 272 total yards of offense against the Cowboys, whereas, in the first two games, Air Force logged a combined 1,134 total yards of offense.  The defense is still playing great, holding all their opponents to 17 or fewer points this season in each game.

Wyoming defeated Air Force 17-14

The Wyoming Cowboys jump all the way up to No. 12 after being unranked, thanks to a surprising upset over Air Force last week. The Cowboys nearly squandered away a 10-point halftime lead, allowing Air Force to score 14 consecutive points before scoring the go-ahead touchdown with about six minutes left in the game.

Pick Analysis. 884. SMU Mustangs. 11. player. Scouting Report. LW: 9. American

SMU lost to Maryland 34-27

SMU had a chance at pulling off a big upset over Maryland from the Big Ten but fell short after the Terrapins got hot in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs outpaced the Terrapins nearly two-to-one on first downs and recorded nearly 100 more total yards of offense, but their three turnovers cost them dearly.

SMU QB Tanner Mordecai had a tough day behind the line, completing just 29 of his 54 passes and throwing 2 INTs.
