College Football picks, predictions Week 4: Can Vols finally beat Florida?
No. 7 USC at Oregon State (9:30 PM on PAC12N)
Prediction: Believe in the Beavs! I love watching these Oregon State Beavers this year during #Pac12AfterDark. People keep waiting to see if and when the USC Trojans slip up in their quest to reach the College Football Playoff in Lincoln Riley’s first year as head coach. I think this will be the first time all season USC starts facing some adversity. The Trojans have a +10 turnover margin through the first three games of the season. That changes when they head to Corvallis, Ore. and face a juiced-up crowd. Senior Jack Colletto, the linebacker and running back will have a big impact in the game and so will QB Chance Nolan. The Junior QB had an outstanding game in the win over USC last season, completing 79% of his passes and recording 4 touchdowns.
Pick: Oregon State +6.5
Wyoming at No. 19 BYU (10:15 PM on ESPN2)
Prediction: Wyoming is coming off a huge win over Air Force last week after holding the Falcons to just 14 points. BYU has a ton of talent on offense, but Wyoming’s defense has played really well the last two games, giving up 14 points or fewer in both games. The Cougars are still reeling from getting blown out by Oregon. The Cowboys have a ton of talent on the ground, boasting three players who have already eclipsed the 100-yard rushing mark for the season. Wyoming is a disciplined team and rarely gets blown out. In fact, since 2019, they have lost a total of 15 games. Of those losses, only one of them was by more than 23 points. Take Wyoming in the points in this one.
Pick: Wyoming +22.5
Stanford at No. 18 Washington (10:30 PM on FS1)
Prediction: The last game on my slate is No. 18 Washington host Stanford after their huge upset over No. 11 Michigan State. Huskies QB Michael Penix Jr. is looking like a Heisman candidate and has the Huskies ranked the highest they’ve been since 2019 in the AP Top 25. Stanford has not looked like a good team at all this season and the Huskies are playing better than just about anyone in the Pac-12 right now. Don’t bet against them or Penix in this one.
Pick: Washington -13.5
