3. Fast start on offense

Notre Dame in all of its games has not gotten off to great starts offensively. The Irish in the opener against Ohio State did get a field goal on its opening drive but that was really it.

Against Marshall and Cal, the Irish offense only mustered one touchdown against each in the first half of those games. It will need to be a lot better on the road against North Carolina.

The second half against California was better compared to the very slow and embarrassing first half which was good to see if you are a Notre Dame fan. Quarterback Drew Pyne was more in sync and had a better grasp of the offense.

Pyne heard it in the first half and was a popular video on social media after offensive coordinator Tommy Rees was shown giving Pyne an earful over the phone after one of the disappointing drives for the offense in the first half.

Rees, Pyne, and the rest of the offense will have a much better start on Saturday afternoon to help get a better flow and rhythm going early on instead of waiting until the second half to start playing to their potential.
