Minnesota (-3) at Michigan State

In a similar boat to Michigan, Minnesota has been dominant through three weeks of the season scoring 49 points per game and also allowing just over five. Yet, the Gophers haven’t really played anyone. Colorado sounds better than it is right now but the Buffs might be the worst Power-5 program in the country right now.

Still, Tanner Morgan has been efficient with five touchdowns and one interception, as well as 206 yards per game through the air. Mo Ibrahim has been the real driving force for Minnesota. He’s averaging 6.9 yards per carry and is tied with Blake Corum for the Big Ten lead with seven rushing touchdowns.

That being said, Michigan State is no slouch. They weren’t the first Big Ten team to struggle out West in a September game and won’t be the last. Payton Thorne needs to do a better job of protecting the ball but the running game is solid and the run defense is allowing fewer than three yards per carry.

The Michigan State defense might have some question marks, but playing at home, fresh off a loss, Mel Tucker will have his team inspired and the Spartans will win as a home underdog thanks to a big day from Thorne, Keon Coleman, and Jalen Berger.
