What’s next for Iowa State?

The Cyclones travel to Lawrence next weekend to take on the high-flying Kansas Jayhawks. Coach Campbell wants to run the football against Kansas to take the pressure off Dekkers in this game. Kansas’ defense is not as good as Baylor’s, but their offense is one of the more explosive in the conference.

Iowa State will have quite the time containing Jalon Daniels, who has been one of the best stories in college football this year. The Cyclones do not want to find themselves 0-2 in the Big 12. If Iowa State wants to beat Kansas, they cannot hurt themselves with penalties as they hurt themselves against Baylor.

Getting that first conference win is a great confidence builder for the Bears. Iowa State is a solid team, and they went on the road and got the win. What the Bears want to improve is the running game. Some of their struggles were Iowa State’s offensive line, and some of their efforts were not finishing blocks.

Baylor plays their third challenging game in a month as they welcome Oklahoma State to Waco. This game is a rematch of the Big 12 Championship game from last season and should be another good game in the Big 12.
