College Football Rankings 2022: Projected AP Top 25 for Week 5
I’m ready to buy some stock in Clemson after a down year in 2021 and that also means that I’m jumping right back on the DJ Uiagalelei hype train. Everyone was so quick to jump ship on him after a shaky opening game against Georgia Tech but he looked like a star against Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon.
DJU passed for 371 yards and five touchdowns and didn’t throw a single pick as he looked like the five-star prospect that he was expected to be when Trevor Lawrence left.
Any time Sam Hartman led the Demon Deacons down to score, DJU was able to respond. Although the Clemson defense didn’t look quite as stingy as Tigers fans would have hoped, the offense really proved some doubters wrong. I don’t think I would’ve ever guessed that Clemson would win a shootout with Wake Forest.
I think the AP voters are going to buy into the Tigers a little more after this ranked road win as well, moving them ahead of a Michigan team that struggled with Maryland.
