College Football Week 4 Loser: Miami Hurricanes

After succumbing to Texas A&M last week, the Miami Hurricanes had a chance to lick their wounds and bounce back in spectacular fashion against Conference USA opponent Middle Tennessee State. However, this game ended up being an absolute nightmare for the ‘Canes.

The Blue Raiders came to play and came out swinging. They got off to a quick 10-0 lead within the first five minutes of the game and were actually up by as many as 21 points in the second quarter.

Miami just couldn’t get anything going on offense and Head Coach Mario Cristobal pulled QB Tyler Van Dyke and replaced him with Jake Garcia. It only stopped the bleeding though, allowing the Hurricanes to stay in lock-step with MTSU, matching their 21-point output in the second half. Garcia couldn’t get Miami out of the 14-point hole created in the first quarter and the Hurricanes were embarrassed 45-31 for their second consecutive loss of the season.

To make matters worse, Miami agreed to pay $1.54 million to Middle Tennessee State for this game and go smoked. Yikes.
