Texas (-7) at No. 22 Texas Tech

This game had college football upset written all over it. Texas Tech has already proven to be dangerous at home, has a new head coach, and was facing a team with its backup quarterback.

Hudson Card is a solid backup and to be fair, he played pretty well throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns compared to one interception. He helped get the game to overtime and that’s when the fumble by Bijan Robinson wound up costing the Longhorns who lost on a field goal in overtime.

This isn’t going to bring any Texas fans comfort but the Longhorns could easily be 4-0 on the season if Quinn Ewers had been able to remain on the field.

That doesn’t mean the Longhorns would have beaten Alabama, but it certainly seemed possible. A touchdown or two instead of a field goal would have meant ballgame against the Tide.

Card was solid against the Red Raiders but had an interception and the turnover-differential proved to be the difference for Joey McGuire and the Raiders.
