10. West Virginia (2-2, 0-1)

The Mountaineers got a massive win against Virginia Tech, winning the Black Diamond Trophy 33-10 for their second win in a row. Quarterback JT Daniels has played well so far and –most importantly — stayed healthy for West Virginia. The Mountaineers have the opportunity for their third straight win as they travel to Austin to take on the Longhorns.

9. Texas (2-2, 0-1)

The Longhorns’ old ways reared its ugly head, blowing a 31-17 third-quarter lead against Texas Tech. The offense looked well on its way to scoring 50 points midway in the third quarter but began to sputter, scoring just three points in the fourth quarter. Texas scored just ten points in the second half of the game. Consistency is a must for the Longhorns.

8. Iowa State (3-1, 0-1)

The Cyclones lost a physical grudge match against the Baylor Bears. The Cyclones’ offense sputtered most of the game but did make a charge in the fourth quarter. Iowa State has to make sure they don’t let the Bears beat them twice by coming out flat against Kansas, who now has to learn to play with expectations.

7. Oklahoma (3-1, 0-1)

The Sooners’ Achilles heel has been the Kansas State Wildcats. The men from the “Little Apple” have found a way to beat the Sooners three of the last four years. It seems like Oklahoma has trouble with Kansas State’s physicality. The Sooners travel to Fort Worth to take on TCU, coming off a bye week.

6. No. 25 Kansas State (3-1, 0-1)

There was no evidence that the Wildcats would have been able to defeat Oklahoma this season other than the record over the last four years against the Sooners. This was the same Kansas State team that lost to hapless Tulane; the same Tulane that lost to Southern Mississippi last week. The Wildcats try for two consecutive conference wins against Texas Tech this weekend.
