3. Wake Forest can’t win in Tallahassee

Florida State is 30-1-8 all-time vs. Wake Forest, despite the Demon Deacons winning the two most recent meetings in 2019 and 2021.

But, if you did a little deeper into the history between these two teams, you’ll see that Wake Forest has not been able to beat Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium since the team’s current starting QB, Sam Hartman, was nine years old (2008). In fact, of the Demon Deacons’ eight wins against Florida State, only three have come in Tallahassee.

Doak Campbell is one of the toughest environments in all of college football to compete, so it’s no surprise Wake Forest has struggled to win there.

With the Noles only giving up 18.8 points per game this season, Wake Forest’s offense will be challenged to move the chains. However, they showed they can do it against Clemson’s revered defense last week, putting up 45 points on the Tigers. It was the most points any team has scored against Clemson since North Carolina State scored 48 points on them back in November of 2012.

Hartman is one of the premier quarterbacks in college football, so don’t count him out of any challenge, but with Wake Forest’s poor track record in Tallahassee, Jordan Travis playing so well, and having home field advantage, the Seminoles are going to outlast the Demon Deacons in Week 5 of the college football season.
