1. LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly’s head will spin vs Vol’s high-octane offense

Brian Kelly provided some great bulletin board material for the Tennessee Volunteers early in the week when he spoke about their up-tempo offense and how one-dimensional it will be to defend.

“If they’re going to snap the ball with 20 seconds left on the clock, there’s not a lot of motion, there’s not a lot of change in the formations,” he said. Adding, “they’ve got to line up right and left, too.”

This Tennessee offense comes at you fast, boasting an SEC-best 48.5 points per game and an SEC-best 365.75 passing yards per game. LSU is giving up just 185.6 passing yards per game, so something is going to give when these two teams square off in Week 6.

This will be the first time these two teams have squared off since 2017 and just the ninth time since 2000. In that time span, LSU has owned Tennessee, winning the last five meetings. Tennessee hasn’t won in Baton Rouge since September 2005.

The way these Vols have been playing, it looks like it’s going to take an Alabama or a Georgia to topple this team.

Expect Hendon Hooker to continue his brilliant play at quarterback and keep the chains moving. Heck, Head Coach Josh Heupel might even kick his offense into higher gear just to toy with Brian Kelly and start snapping the ball with 25 or more seconds on the play clock.

The Vols win this one, giving them another ranked win before they face No. 1 Alabama in Knoxville on Oct. 15. Death Valley will be rocking despite the early kickoff, but unfortunately for Tigers fans, Tennessee will come out unscathed.

Prediction: Tennessee 38, LSU 32
