3. Indiana is Still in the Mix For a Bowl Game

After losing a tough game against Nebraska last week and going into the daunting B1G East slate ahead of them, any shot at Indiana winning three more games seemed faint.

But after a promising performance against one of the top teams on their schedule, it is possible that Indiana can pull a few more wins off. When Connor Bazelak didn’t have to throw the ball away before fully dropping back, he had some success, throwing for 203 yards.

Cam Camper didn’t have the same kind of game he has had recently, being limited to just two receptions, but did pick up 33 yards on one alone. The defense stood tall for most of the game, especially in defending the run, where, excluding Corum’s 50-yard scamper on the first drive, Michigan was held to 28 yards in the first half.

It will not be an easy task, but Tom Allen’s crew could find itself playing in the postseason. It’s reasonable to assume that Indiana will not beat Ohio State or Penn State, so they will need to win three out of four between Maryland and Purdue at home and Rutgers and Michigan State on the road. Again—not an easy task, not even a probable task. But if the Hoosiers come out playing like they did today, it can be done.
