Rose Bowl

Oregon v Michigan

We hold firm on last week’s projection for the 109th Rose Bowl Game.

Head coach Dan Lanning and his Oregon Ducks went to Tucson and ran all over the Arizona Wildcats, rushing for over 300 yards and 7 touchdowns in a 49-22 victory.

Ever since their brutal beat down in week one to Georgia, the Ducks have overwhelmed their opponents. With a dominant win against ranked BYU and a tough road win over a really underrated Washington State team, the Ducks have their remaining big-time games all at home at the Zoo.

The Ducks may end up being the first team to ever get beat by 46 points, and still end up in the Rose Bowl.

Michigan had their third straight challenge, finishing off a competitive Indiana team 31-10, after being tied at 10 into the 3rd quarter.

The defense did its part, and Blake Corum continues his Heisman campaign, but the season will come down to whether Quarterback J.J. McCarthy can make the big plays needed to take down fellow CFP hopefuls Penn State and Ohio State.

The battle against Penn State begins this weekend when the Wolverines host the Nittany Lions in a top-10 showdown. A win this weekend, and worst case scenario, Michigan is gonna end up in Pasadena at season’s end.

Here, we are projecting the Wolverines to fall short in the Big Game, but make their way to the Rose Bowl. Does Harbaugh finally get the big bowl win, or does Oregon finish strong?
