14. Virginia Cavaliers (2-4, 0-3)

Does the transitive property work with head coach Tony Elliot? DJ Uiagalelei has played better this season than he did last season. Tony Elliot was the offensive coordinator at Clemson. Brennan Armstrong played out of his mind last season. He stinks this season. Who’s running the offense at Virginia? Tony Elliot. Correlation or causation? You decide.

13. Miami Hurricanes (2-3, 0-1)

Miami’s free fall has been a confluence of issues. Running back Jaylon Knighton has been hurt. Losing Mike Hartley and Charleston Rambo has hurt tremendously. Transitioning from Rhett Lashlee’s offense to Josh Gattis’ offense without a clear number-one receiver has also been a factor. Toss all that in with Mario Cristobal’s conservative nature as a coach.

12. Louisville (3-3, 1-3)

Is Scott Satterfield on the hot seat? Yes, yes, he is. Purdue head coach and former Cardinals quarterback Jeff Brohm is looking good. Louisville did notch its first ACC Football win against Virginia last Saturday, but the Cards do not look good this season. Louisville needs Malik Cunningham to come back and play lights out to have a chance against the back half of their schedule.

11. Boston College (2-4, 1-3)

It is hard not to feel for head coach Jeff Hafley, quarterback Phil Jurkovec, and the Boston College Eagles. Hafley knew the offensive line had to be retooled during the offseason. What the Eagles did not expect were all of the injuries. The back end of their schedule (save UConn) does them no favors.
