1. Baylor at West Virginia, Thursday at 7 pm on FS1

Don’t have Amazon Prime to watch Thursday Night Football? Maybe you do, but fell asleep watching last week’s game, and can’t get yourself excited for Washington vs Chicago? The Big 12 has you covered.

Neither team has quite lived up to the hype this year. Baylor started off the season as a top 10 team, however, after losses to BYU and Oklahoma State, they have fallen out of the top 25. Abraham Smith and Trestan Ebner, their two leading rushers from a year ago, have been tough to replace; as a team, they’ve only rushed for 939 yards, nowhere near on pace for the 3,000 they put up last year.

West Virginia has been a similar story. While never ranked this year, there was hope that Georgia transfer JT Daniels would return them to where the program was with Will Grier at the helm. That hasn’t happened, as Daniels has been rather pedestrian and the Mountaineers have found themselves at 2-3.

But halfway through the season, both teams have a chance to salvage things a bit. Baylor is still in play to make it to the Big 12 championship. West Virginia, while not possessing as high of a ceiling, could still piece together a few wins and make a bowl game for the third straight season. Neither team can feasibly achieve these goals without winning on Thursday. Both understand the stakes. Expect a barn burner in Morgantown.
