Throw some respect on TCU football

If I was a TCU football fan, I’d probably be a little salty about the fact that the Horned Frogs were ranked just 8th in the AP poll after College Football Week 7, but doubt TCU football at your own risk.

The Horned Frogs also have a bona-fide Heisman Trophy contender in Max Duggan. He burst on the scene two weeks ago after the win over Kansas (and OU), and he’s been nothing short of spectacular since taking over the starting job.

The thing with the Horned Frogs is that with USC’s loss, it’s looking more likely that the Pac-12 won’t have an undefeated team. That’s great news for TCU because if they win out, they should be just about guaranteed to get a playoff berth.

We’ll find out more in the next few weeks. There is a showdown between TCU and Kansas State, the last two undefeated teams in Big 12 conference play, then Texas and Baylor loom.

I believe the Longhorns are a real threat to win the Big 12. Kansas State looks damn good too. But TCU has beaten Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the last three weeks, as well as defeating a 5-0 Kansas team and I don’t think anyone predicted that at the start of the college football season.
