Odds, predictions and upset alert for College Football Week 8
No. 17 Kansas State at No. 8 TCU (-3.5)
Ever since the Oklahoma win, TCU QB Max Duggan has been trending up in our Heisman Trophy rankings, and that only continued with another solid performance last week.
Duggan and the TCU offense have been averaging 43 points a game and just like Adrian Martinez, Duggan is a true dual-threat, although he’s probably a better passer than he is a runner.
Martinez is the opposite. He only has 900 yards passing this season, yet he hasn’t thrown an interception and that’s been the key. Martinez also has over 500 rushing yards and Deuce Vaughn, the dynamic running back is nearly at 800.
The determining factor is likely going to be hemming in the Wildcats on the ground. It’s tough to do but if TCU can force Martinez to throw more than he wants, they should win.
A shootout favors the Horned Frogs and at home, I expect Duggan to keep building on his Heisman candidacy.
