Will PJ Fleck be on the hot seat at the end of the year?

This may seem out of line and an overreaction to many Minnesota football fans, but it is a conversation that needs to be had. PJ Fleck has changed the culture of Minnesota football, with his “Row the Boat” slogan and energetic attitude. But it seems the boat has hit a strong current and can no longer progress further upstream.

Over the course of the last three weeks, the Gophers have lacked energy, discipline, and quite frankly talent. Against Purdue, Illinois, and Penn State last night Minnesota has been dominated physically and mentally.

Several times the team looked lost on both sides of the ball, and it seems Minnesota is lacking legit playmakers.

Minnesota football is in line to lose several starters on both sides of the ball next year, putting pressure on the recruitment and development of young players. If Fleck’s recruiting and coaching skills fail another 2020-like season could be on the horizon.
