College Football Week 8: Gut Reactions, CFB Playoff Projections
CFB Playoff Projections after Week 8
While there have been upsets and there was on Saturday in College Football Week 8 with No. 7 Ole miss going down to unranked LSU, there wasn’t a change in the CFB Playoff race.
Clemson losing definitely woud have shaken things up and Syracuse would be in the conversation then, but now the ACC has just one hope.
The Pac-12 (USC and Oregon), and Big 12 (TCU and Oklahoma State) both have multiple teams in the playoff chase as do the SEC (UGA, Bama, Tennessee) and the Big Ten (Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State).
Things are starting to narrow down though. Penn State will be eliminated without a win over Ohio State this next week but imagine if they pulled the upset? That would dramatically change the race in more ways than one.
Georgia and Tennessee also have a game looming, but the bottom line is that as long as Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson, and in my opinion, TCU keep winning, they will all make the College Football Playoff.
But Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, and a number of others also control their own destiny, so buckle up, a lot can still happen between now and selection Sunday.
