3. Kenny Dillingham, Oregon OC

Kenny Dillingham Auburn makes lots of sense because the Tigers could have some issues hiring a sitting head coach because of all the drama surrounding Auburn attempting to fire Harsin for a cause while he and his family was in Mexico on vacation last summer. Oregon offensive coordinator Dillingham would be a solid replacement for Harsin if they struggle to get a sitting head coach.

While Dillingham could be a case of “not enough pelts on the wall,” he’s one of the brightest offensive minds in college football. Dillingham has gotten the best out of quarterback Bo Nix this season, and the Ducks look better offensively than they did under former head coach Mario Cristobal.

Dillingham did serve as offensive coordinator at Auburn in 2019. The Tigers averaged 33 points per game that season and Nix was SEC Offensive Freshman of the year. Auburn scored 48 points in their Iron Bowl victory against Alabama that season.

Hiring Dillingham is a hire about his potential as a head coach and will have the Tigers preaching something that fans don’t have on The Plains, patience. Dillingham can recruit and potentially bring some energy to the Auburn program, which is sorely lacking.
