2. Caleb Williams, USC

Speaking of quarterbacks that have accounted for 39 total touchdowns this year, put Caleb Williams on the list because he also has 39 with 33 passing scores and six on the ground.

Over the last three games, Williams has scored four touchdowns on the ground. He’s also been throwing the ball really well and in the win over UCLA, he passed for 470 yards, averaged 10.9 yards per pass attempt, and completed 74.4 percent of his passes. He also ran for 30 yards and a score, giving him 500 total and three touchdowns.

That’s why he moved from No. 4 in our Heisman Trophy rankings to No. 2. The win over UCLA put the Trojans in the driver’s seat for the fourth College Football Playoff berth.

And with showdowns looming against Notre Dame and likely Oregon in the Pac-12 title game, Williams will be on the big stage the next three weeks and I have no doubt that he will be one of the finalists in New York.

But can he win it? Yes, if he gets a little help from the Michigan Wolverines.
