Notre Dame has an outside chance at a NY6 Bowl

You never know exactly what the bowl tie-ins are going to look like for Notre Dame football but essentially, the Irish can use ACC bowl game as long as they are within a game of the team that would have earned that bowl slot.

In terms of making a NY6 game, Notre Dame football will need to earn an at-large berth because it doesn’t look likely that Clemson will make the College Football Playoff. It’s still possible and if North Carolina lost, Notre Dame could have a shot of getting that bowl berth.

The Irish are ranked 15th in the Week 13 College Football Playoff rankings but the Irish are taking a trip to play the No. 6 team in the country in USC. If they win, I’m betting they will move up a few more spots and finish inside the top 12

Notre Dame has already defeated Clemson and North Carolina and if USC went down to the Irish, that would be three wins over teams playing on championship weekend.

The 2022 Notre Dame football season didn’t start off great, but if the Irish beat USC, Marcus Freeman will be the toast of the town, regardless of the bowl berth.

That being said, I have a hard time not seeing Notre Dame football in a major bowl game with a win over USC this weekend.
