Sugar Bowl

Alabama v Kansas State
Previous: LSU v Kansas State

LSU failed to hold up in their final road game of the season, losing to lowly Texas A&M and crushing their chance at making the dance.

Even with the loss, LSU will still head to Atlanta and take on the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. A win and LSU gets the Sugar Bowl bid, a loss and they’re completely off the NY6 pool. With an expected loss, we’re projecting Alabama to take their bid on Bourbon Street.

For the first time ever, the Wildcats of Kansas State are heading to the Sugar Bowl.

The Wildcats, led by the most underrated coach in football, Chris Klieman, and the most underrated running back in Deuce Vaughn, are essentially a win over rival Kansas away from an automatic bid to their first major bowl since 2013.

If Kansas State were to get revenge from an early season loss to TCU, then Kansas State would get the automatic bid to the Sugar, likely sending TCU to the Cotton Bowl. A loss and TCU gets the playoff nod, while KSU would take their vacant spot in the Sugar Bowl. Either way, Wildcat fans are going to be partying in New Orleans.

When you take a step back to September, we’re looking at a pretty shocking Sugar Bowl. Fast forward to now, and you should have two teams that seem to be playing their best football right now. Deuce Vaughn trying to get around Will Anderson Jr while two great coaches duel should make for a fun matchup.
