1.  Rose Bowl: No. 11 Penn State vs No. 8 Utah (Jan. 2)

One thing that’s great about the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl is that in two years, these games would be first-round playoff matchups.

Thinking that way makes it more interesting to me. In the case of the Rose Bowl though, that’s not necessary as the Grandaddy of them All hit a home run with this one.

The Big Ten getting two teams in the playoff opened the door for Penn State to get back to the Rose Bowl and a traditional matchup will be great especially since both teams will be motivated.

Utah came oh so close in last year’s Rose Bowl and I’m sure the Utes are excited to go back. Penn State will also feel the same way and the winner will reach 11 games.

And with the playoff coming expanding, these traditional matchups aren’t going to last forever so enjoy it while you can, especially since both are ranked in the top 11.
