Jeff Simms – Florida

Another team that has a five-star quarterback coming in during the 2023 recruiting class is the Florida Gators after they were able to flip Jaden Rashada from Miami.

That was a big get for Florida but it might be a stretch to say that he’s going to be ready for next season and with Anthony Richardson leaving for the NFL draft, the Gators definitely need to add a quarterback in the college football transfer portal.

One name that’s been known to be going into the transfer portal is that of former Georgia Tech starting quarterback Jeff Simms.

Simms, a former four-star QB is from Jacksonville and was ranked as the No. 32 player in the state of Florida for the 2020 class. He’s not a super senior like some of these other quarterbacks and he would have two years of eligibility left.

Simms isn’t super polished as a passer but he can be an effective runner and he’s probably not a big enough name to scare off Rashada, although he would be good enough to add some depth for the 2023 season.
