Season Overview: Is Jeff Hafley a good football coach? That is a fair question because his program has endured two seasons of crippling injuries. Those injuries make it challenging to evaluate Hafley’s ability to coach. It could be that the struggles are running a program. Jurkovec dealt with injuries again, and the offensive line play was poor because of injuries. The Eagles’ lack of depth hurt them immensely because of those injuries.
2023 Outlook: Coaching Boston College is difficult enough. It is in one of the worst recruiting footprints in America and cannot replace transfers at the rate they leave. Jurkovec has left for Pitt, which leaves Emmett Moorhead and Matthew Rueve. Three-star Jacobe Robinson is coming, but he might not be ready as a true freshman.
Kyle Hergel transfers in from Texas State to shore up the offensive line. That’s where the Eagles need to improve next season. Boston College will struggle if Hafley can’t get the trenches together.
