Season Overview: Dino Babers and the Orange were 11-24 after their ten-win 2018 season. It was hard to quantify how much trouble Babers was in this season, but he and Syracuse rebounded nicely with a 7-5 record. The Orange did struggle after winning its first six games; much of those struggles can be attributed to a more difficult schedule on the back end and issues with injuries.
2023 Outlook:
What will the Orange look like without running back Sean Tucker and offensive coordinator Robert Anae? Tucker is off to the NFL, and Anae joins conference rival North Carolina State. Babers and his staff focused on the trenches in recruiting; they are high on freshman running back LeQuint Allen.
Promoting Jason Beck to offensive coordinator helps with continuity. Can Babers put two consecutive winning seasons together?
