Season Overview: The same inconsistencies Louisville has shown under Scott Satterfield reared their ugly heads again this season. The Cardinal blew out Wake Forest and lost to Boston College all in the same season. Losing quarterback Malik Cunningham for much of the season did not help either. On a positive note, the Cardinals had one of the best pass rushes in the nation, with Yasir Abdullah and Yaya Diaby combined for 18.5 sacks.

2023 Outlook: Did Satterfield think seven or eight wins is the ceiling for Louisville? It always seemed as if he did just enough not to get fired. It seemed like neither party mainly wanted the other; the agreement was until Louisville could get Jeff Brohm and Satterfield could find a bigger job. Well, everyone got what they wanted; let’s see if it works.
