A great end to an era

The Gophers have had a bunch of really good players over the last few seasons but none have meant more than quarterback Tanner Morgan and running back Mo Ibrahim.

Morgan wasn’t the most talented player for Minnesota football but he was responsible for winning a lot of games in the last four years. Kaliakmanis had actually replaced him as the starter and Morgan was doing all he could to help him out according to the broadcast.

When called upon, Morgan was solid and threw two touchdowns in the win for Minnesota, which was able to cash in on its scoring chances more effectively than Syracuse. Ibrahim also finished with 71 yards and scored a touchdown.

It was fitting that Morgan and Ibrahim were able to be on the field together for the final snap in the victory formation. Three straight nine-win seasons, two straight wins over Wisconsin, and another bowl win were just some of the achievements of the past few seasons.
