The 2022 Big 12 season was one of the more memorable seasons in a long time. Though the conference returns to the CFP, it isn’t Texas or Oklahoma; little brother TCU makes its debut in the CFP. The Kansas State Wildcats won its first conference title since 2012 and its first outright title since 2003.

Texas is not “back,” but there were seeds of a changing culture. The Longhorns did give up some second-half leads, but they also ground out some victories. Who predicted Oklahoma would be this mediocre other than this guy:

It’s hard to see Oklahoma with seven wins, but it made sense with all of the transfers that left Norman in the offseason. Baylor was another team that took a fall this season. The Bears could not overcome all of the production they lost to the NFL. Break out the Jayhawks. Head coach Lance Leipold led Kansas to its first bowl game in 15 years.

So, to live mascots, unique hand signals to show school loyalty, and school nicknames that are weather events, here are the last Big 12 Power Rankings of the season.
