4. LSU football

Lots of college football fans questioned Brian Kelly going to LSU. They wondered how he would do in the SEC and after the first year, the answer is pretty well.

Kelly added Jayden Daniels to the LSU football roster via the transfer portal and it was a huge success. Daniels dealt with some injuries near the end of the season but was a Heisman Trophy contender and could have a real shot to win the award in 2023.

LSU football returns all five of its offensive line starters and Malik Nabers is back after breaking out for more than 1,000 yards receiving in 2022.

Beating Alabama also made the statement that LSU football needed to be taken seriously under Brian Kelly, who led the Tigers to the SEC West title in his first season.

The defense is going to have to replace some guys but LSU has really upgraded its talent at cornerback through Denver Harris and five-star 2023 CB Javien Toviano.

There is more five-star talent coming at wide receiver and speaking of defense, Harold Perkins might be as good a player on that side of the ball as anyone in the SEC next season.

Honestly, I think people are underrating LSU and what’s exciting is that the Tigers and Seminoles will open the season against each other, which will be a real treat.
