Season Overview: Kalen DeBoer injected life into what was a stagnant offense in 2022. The Huskies had their best season since they went to the Rose Bowl in 2018. DeBoer reconnected with quarterback Michael Penix, J . and he was dynamic in Seattle. Had they not gotten upset by Arizona State, Washington’s season might have been different.
2023 Outlook: Big Penix energy is back in 2023. Leading receivers Jaylin Polk and Rome Odunze return to an offense that averaged nearly 40 points per game. As good as the pass rush was, the secondary was mediocre which is ironic since the Huskies put so many defensive backs in the NFL.
