Season Overview: Beavers head coach Johnathan Smith wanted to prove that 2021 was not a fluke. Not only did Oregon State prove that true, but they also won 10 games and their bowl. The Beavers did all of this with mediocre — and bad at times — quarterback play. That USC game might have played out differently if they had a quarterback who could take care of the football.
2023 Outlook: Clemson quarterback DJ Uiagalelei returns to the west coast with the Beavers. Smith and Oregon State produce a ton and have a quarterback seeking a renaissance in his career. Uiagalelei could be the piece that elevates the Beavers to the top of the conference.
