Loser: Georgia

It’s kind of rich to call Georgia a loser on National Signing Day but in a narrow aspect, the Bulldogs had a couple of things go against them on Thursday in the 2023 college football recruiting class.

Five-star tight end Duce Robinson delayed a decision. He has been trending with expert projections to Georgia and the Bulldogs were the favorite. However, USC made a late push and with his baseball future looming large, Robinson is waiting to make a decision.

Robinson is the No. 1 tight end in the 2023 class and at 6-foot-6, is an absolute freak. He’d be a weapon immediately whether it’s at Georgia or USC and he’s a name to watch going forward.

Yet, Georgia also missed out on four-star tight end Walker Lyons. He was committed to Stanford and re-opened his recruitment. Georgia was the crystal ball leader again, but Lyons, in a mild surprise signed with USC.

The Bulldogs still signed an incredible class and could add Robinson. But for one day at least, it wasn’t all good for UGA.
