This will be a fun matchup and a bittersweet one for Sam Hartman who gets to face his former team and the coach who was with him for four years in Dave Clawson. Can’t really call it a revenge game since Hartman left on his own, but you know he’ll be hungry for a big win.

This would normally be a high-scoring affair but I’m not sold on Mitch Griffis as the Demon Deacons’ quarterback.

Notre Dame wins this one with relative ease at home.

Prediction: Win (8-3)

Speaking of relatively easy wins, the Irish will go on the road to face Stanford in the annual battle of the brains.

The Cardinal, however, will be without David Shaw who stepped down following another disappointing season. That means Troy Taylor is in charge and I don’t think he’s ready to compete with Notre Dame just yet.

There’s a long road ahead for Stanford to become relevant again and Notre Dame will prove that in the finale with a three-touchdown road win.

Prediction: Win (9-3)
