Tennessee football: Joe Milton or Nico Iamaleava

Arch Manning is the quarterback that most college football fans know from the 2023 class, but On3 is one site that viewed Nico Iamaleava as the No. 1 recruit.

Iamaleava is 6-foot-6, 200 pounds, and is ranked second in the 247 sports composite rankings to Manning. He’s been compared to Marcus Mariota and is a dual-threat option with an elite arm.

Tennessee football won’t have Hendon Hooker back next season but the Vols got a glimpse into the future when Joe Milton led the Vols to a win in the Orange Bowl against Clemson throwing for 251 yards and three touchdowns.

Milton only attempted 82 passes last season but he threw 10 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He always had an elite arm, even while he was at Michigan and Josh Heupel has gotten the best out of him.

Iamaleava is certainly going to push him and like Moore, he’s enrolled early to take part in Tennessee football spring practice. But my bet is on Joe Milton, at least to the start the season.
