TCU football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2023
I was really impressed with Joey McGuire’s first season as head coach of Texas Tech. He took a team that was projected to finish near the bottom of the Big 12 to an 8-5 season and he didn’t even have his own roster in place. That’s a sign of a good coach.
I do, however, think the Red Raiders will take a slight step back, but not before taking down one of the Big 12’s top teams in upset fashion.
Prediction: Loss (7-2, 4-2)
After losing two straight, TCU will be welcomed home with a matchup against a ranked Texas team. It’s not exactly the “easy win” the Horned Frogs will be hoping for after having their playoff hopes dashed with back-to-back losses, but it’ll be a chance to rise in the Big 12 standings.
The Longhorns will have one of the most explosive offenses in the country again next season, but TCU will have all the answers at home.
Texas may very well be in the playoff hunt here, too, with Quinn Ewers playing at a Heisman-caliber level, but TCU takes out its anger on the Longhorns for a big win.
Prediction: Win (8-2, 5-2)
