Colorado football: 3 way-too-early breakout candidates for 2023

This one was an obvious pick. While I could have picked Shedeur Sanders (that would have been cheating because he was too obvious), Travis Hunter feels like the best option to take over.

If there’s one newcomer on the team that I think could legitimately be a first-team All-Pac-12 performer and potential All-American candidate, it’s Hunter. He’s one of the best cornerbacks in the country and there’s a reason he was a five-star in the 2022 class.

Hunter is following his head coach from Jackson State to Boulder and he should immediately be slotted into that starting lineup next season.

While he didn’t put up crazy numbers at Jackson State last season with 19 total tackles, eight pass breakups, and two interceptions, he’s capable of much more. He’s going to absolutely break out in 2023 and become one of the best cornerbacks in the Pac-12.
