Marcus Washington

Nebraska football is looking for a No. 1 wide receiver after Trey Palmer declared for the NFL draft and Marcus Washington is a guy that could fill the role.

Last season, he caught 31 passes for 471 yards and two touchdowns. He averaged 15.2 yards per reception and that’s the third season in a row that he’s done that.

But with a bigger opportunity next season, Washington is due for a true breakout campaign. I know that everyone is high on Jeff Sims and long term, I a too. However, I believe that Casey Thompson is a better passer, and too many are sleeping on what he can do.

For my money, I think he’s going to be the starter next season, which would be a good thing for Washington. The two have had a connection since their days at Texas and I could see Washington almost doubling his production from last season.
