player. 30. Scouting Report. CB. Joey Porter Jr.. 13. Pick Analysis. Penn State
I know, I know, the Jets took Sauce Gardner last year, but they could use more cornerback help. Heck, they could use help at safety, too.
The Jets could very well take the first safety in this year’s draft at No. 13 or they could pick an offensive tackle. Even a quarterback could be an option here with Will Levis still on the board, but I just don’t think they will take a chance on a risky passer with other better options still on the table.
Joey Porter Jr. would be a really good pick here as I think he might just be the top cornerback in the class and he’s improved throughout his Penn State career.
In his first two years, he played a total of 11 games and had 36 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, and five pass breakups. In his final two seasons, he had 77 total tackles, an interception, and 15 pass breakups. He was one of the best cornerbacks in the entire country in 2021 and 2022.
A duo of Sauce and Porter Jr. would be elite.
