49. Scouting Report. Michael Mayer. 15. player. Pick Analysis. TE. Notre Dame

Will Aaron Rodgers be back in Green Bay? It feels like that’s in serious doubt, especially after the 2022 season ended with a loss to the Lions. He walked off the field, embracing Randall Cobb and every post-game interview he gave just had the vibes of “it’s over” for the two parties.

If that era is truly over, Jordan Love would take over and he’ll need some weapons to throw to. Christian Watson proved to be a nice deep threat in 2022 and Romeo Doubs could be the next star receiver in Green Bay, but an elite tight end is something that the Packers haven’t had in a while.

Michael Mayer could be that elite tight end.

The star Irish tight end finished his Notre Dame career with 2,099 yards and 18 touchdowns on 180 receptions. He had over 800 receiving yards in each of his last two seasons and earned the nickname “Baby Gronk.”

If he’s anything like Gronk, the Packers would be set for a while.
