Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 21. player. 13. LB. Arkansas. Drew Sanders
This might open some eyes, but I think Drew Sanders is probably the best linebacker — with the ability to rush the edge — in this class. A lot of people believe that’s Clemson’s Trenton Simpson, but I’m slightly higher on Sanders, at the moment, but that could all change with combine results and pro days.
Sanders may get drafted as a linebacker, but he could line up on the edge in blitz packages and get after the quarterback. He’s explosive in those situations.
Sanders started his career at Alabama before transferring to Arkansas and excelling as a junior, accounting for 103 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, an interception, and five pass breakups to go along with three forced fumbles.
The Chargers need a linebacker, so why not go out and get the best one who happens to have great pass-rushing abilities?
